How Leo Buscaglia and Steve Sapato are alike

When I first discovered Leo Buscaglia I remember wishing I was able to see the world as he saw the world. He saw love every place he looked. He saw love in his students. He saw love in his past, through his family. He saw love in food. He saw love in the leaves in his yard. Each and everything he shared was about how much love there was all around us.
I bought his books, his tapes. I watched his videos and listened to his life and love, hopes and dreams.
And one day... I discovered that I saw love in many places too. I found that the more I learned from Dr. Leo F. Buscaglia the more love I found in my life.
And as I have now read most of his books for the second and third time I have also discovered that my passion in life is to help other people discover love in their lives.
Yes, LOVE. The one thing that most of us seek but few of us study and therefore few of us find.
Dr. Leo shared how most of us don't understand the human psyche because we are immersed in our own past, trapped in our own emotions, fearful of letting go, afraid of being hurt.
I have become a student of life and love. I have become someone who seeks out the joy of loving each day as Dr. Leo discovered every day of his life!
I have discovered a passion that allows me to get excited when I talk with people and groups about how we need to open ourselves to all the glories that life has to offer us.
Disappointment is part of the glory of life! Pain is part of the emotions of life! Joy is part, laughter is part, tears are part... and it's all interwoven into this thing called LIFE!
Yet so few of us allow all of it into our lives.
I want to share this joy, these disappointments, the passion of life with everyone I meet and I don't understand why they don't want to join me in celebrating it all every place we are.
The other day I stood in a crowded elevator and started introducing myself and laughed and smiled and said "Hi! My name is Steve" and the people smiled politely and looked away. So I said louder, "HI! My name is Steve!" and I looked at each one and asked "And what's your name?" And before we had gone but a few floors one of them had to get off and we all hollered "By! Have a great day!" and we laughed and as each one of us got off, we all shared the smile and said goodby and I rode that elevator all the way to the top just to say goodbye to all of them.
A couple days later as I walked through the hall someone looked at me, pointed and shared with their friend, "Look, see that guy? His name is Steve!" and I said "YES!!!! How great to see you again!" and said hi to their" friend and left by saying hope to ride the elevator with you again some day!"
Dr. Leo and I are alike. We both love people, love sharing, love exciting and love being memorable. And with any luck at all, I will become even more like Dr. Leo, by changing peoples lives like he changed mine.
